Over 10,000 Undergraduate and Graduate Students Joined ECUST in 2026

As autumn begins, a new chapter unfolds. From September 5 to 7, ECUST welcomed its 2026 cohort across the Xuhui and Fengxian campuses. Over 4,600 undergraduates and 5,500 graduate students from China and around the world joined ECUST, beginning a new journey of academic pursuit and personal growth.

From “AI Xiaoli”, the University’s AI-powered virtual orientation assistant that accompanied students before arrival, to the convenient one-stop registration services available on campus, ECUST integrated digital technologies, dedicated volunteer support, and student-centered services throughout the orientation process. 

Through close coordination among administrative departments and academic schools, the University provided comprehensive, around-the-clock support to ensure a smooth and welcoming start for every new student.

During registration, CPC ECUST Committee Secretary Chuanhai Jiang, President Fuzhen Xuan, CPC ECUST Committee Deputy Secretary and Discipline Inspection Commission Secretary Yue Gong, and Vice Presidents Huifeng Wang and Liming Zhao, along with representatives from relevant administrative departments, visited orientation sites at both campuses. 

To support new students, ECUST continued to enhance its “New Journey Support Program”, upgrading its Green Channel financial assistance services. Students could complete applications online through a streamlined process and receive customized support packages, including the “Study at ECUST” Digital Learning Package, the “Explore with ECUST” Practice and Innovation Package, and the “Home at ECUST” Health and Wellness Package. 

To enrich the orientation experience, the University also organized a series of welcoming activities, including the “Embarking on a New Journey” red-themed campus check-in event, the distribution of discipline-specific books and customized cultural souvenirs, and original “Huali Qingfeng” (Breeze at ECUST) postcards. 

Across both campuses, colorful banners, welcoming displays, and creatively designed photo spots reflecting the distinctive characteristics of each school created a vibrant and festive atmosphere, encouraging new students to immerse themselves in the University’s rich culture and embrace the values of responsibility, aspiration, and perseverance.

A new chapter has begun, and countless possibilities lie ahead. ECUST warmly welcomed every member of the 2026 Cohort and looked forward to supporting them as they pursue their dreams and shape the future together.
