ECUST Upgraded Campus Facilities During the 2026 Summer Break

During the summer break, ECUST took advantage of this key construction period to upgrade campus facilities and improve services across its Xuhui and Fengxian campuses. The work focused on dining, teaching facilities, residential conditions, and the campus environment to provide students and faculty with a more comfortable and convenient campus experience.

Improving Dining Facilities

ECUST carried out comprehensive renovations at several dining halls. At the Xuhui Campus, the staff dining hall underwent an overall upgrade, including hardware replacement and layout optimization at all food stalls. New dishes featuring regional flavors were also introduced to provide more diverse dining options.

At the Fengxian Campus, air-conditioning equipment was added to the third floor of Dining Hall 1 to improve ventilation and comfort during the summer. The second floor of Dining Hall 2 was also renovated, with new seating, 98 additional seats, and updated walls and lighting.

Upgrading Campus Facilities

ECUST refurbished streetlights poles at the Fengxian Campus by removing rust and applying new protective coatings, improving both their appearance and durability. Storage racks in faculty apartment bathrooms were also replaced to enhance living conditions.

Advancing Smart Teaching

ECUST further strengthened its educational technology infrastructure. An LED display was installed at the entrance of the Xuhui Campus, while classrooms in Building B at the Fengxian Campus received new interactive all-in-one displays. An indoor LED display was also installed in Room 909 of the Information and Library Building to support meetings and academic activities.

Improving Residential Conditions

Three newly built graduate residence buildings at the Fengxian Campus were prepared for occupancy during the summer. At the Xuhui Campus, furniture in Residence Halls 2 and 18 was replaced, while bathrooms in Halls 2, 6, and 14 received facility upgrades. Renovations were also carried out in selected bathrooms and shower rooms at the Fengxian Campus.

Maintaining a Clean and Green Campus

ECUST continued routine maintenance, including drainage cleaning, facility upkeep, deep cleaning, elevator maintenance, and swimming pool disinfection. Landscaping work included lawn trimming and replacing flowers in landscaped areas and planters, while special care was given to the sunflower garden ahead of the new semester.

These improvements created a more comfortable, efficient, and welcoming campus environment for teaching, learning, and daily life.
